- Payment Information: Processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat; we do not store your payment card details

DESCEND collects health-related data to provide personalized training recommendations:
- Heart Rate Data: Real-time and historical heart rate measurements from connected devices (e.g., Polar H10)
- Training Metrics: Lactate Threshold Heart Rate (LTHR), HRV measurements, VO2max estimates, FTP, and power output data
- Workout Sessions: Duration, intensity zones, training load (TRIMP), and performance metrics
- GPS Location Data: Trail routes during outdoor training sessions (only when Trail Track feature is active)
- Nutrition Preferences: Dietary preferences and meal plan interactions
- Strength & Conditioning: Exercise completion, sets, reps, and heart rate during strength sessions
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, session duration
- Crash Reports: Technical information when the app encounters errors (via Firebase Crashlytics)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide the Service: Deliver personalized heart rate zone training, workout guidance, and performance tracking
- Improve Training Recommendations: Analyze your fitness data to optimize training protocols
- Coach Integration: Share relevant data with coaches you've connected to via the Coach Portal (with your consent)
- App Improvement: Identify bugs, improve performance, and develop new features
- Communications: Send service-related notifications, updates, and (with your consent) promotional content
- Legal Compliance: Meet regulatory requirements and respond to legal requests
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

- Coach Portal: When you link your account to a coach, they can view your training data and provide guidance
- Third-Party Integrations: If you connect external services or devices
4.2 Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, crash reporting, performance monitoring
- RevenueCat: Subscription management
- Anthropic (Claude API): AI-powered coaching narratives and nutrition plans. Only anonymised fitness data is sent; no personally identifiable information (name, email) is shared
- Mapbox: Map rendering and trail display
- Open-Meteo: Weather data for environmental training context (approximate location only)
- Polar / Coospo: Heart rate device connectivity via Bluetooth
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 Storage Location
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), located in Australia (Sydney region).
5.2 Security Measures

5.3 Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for 90 days after deletion request

You can view your data within the app and request a copy of your data in a portable format.

You can delete your account and associated data through Settings > Account > Delete Account.

- Manage coach connections in Settings > Coach
- Control GPS tracking permissions in device settings

7. Children's Privacy
DESCEND is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
8. International Data Transfers
If you access DESCEND from outside Australia, your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Australia. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
